The HANG SENG index lost nearly 1.5% on Monday. After the closing bell, less than 10% of the index constituents are above their 20D MA (vs. 16% last Friday), and 28% of the shares are above their 50D MA (vs 40%). In mainland China, the CSI300 was broadly flat on Monday. After the market close, only 13% of the index constituents closed above their 20D MA (vs 16% last Friday).

Investment Advice on Oct 2011
Investors should be preparing for greater stresses to come. One of the golden rules of sucessful investing is to know when to stay out of the markets. Successful investors/traders spend more than 85% of their time on sidelines and wait for their chances. Avoiding losing trade is key to overall profit. Confused traders should perhaps take a step back from trading and let the comission-hungry hooligans fight for their scraps.
My advice is pretrend to act stupid and stay out this summer and come back whenever you're ready to brace for more volatility down the road. Fasten your seat belts.
